Temper are pleased to announce that the French business has been acquired by Student Pop, a well-established player in the flexible staffing market in France. Student Pop bring over x years of experience, and a workforce of over xxx,000, ready and waiting to work for you.

What does this mean for my business?

By the end of February, you will be sent your login details for your new Student Pop account, as well as contact details for your new account manager, who will be delighted to help you get started.

Why have Temper taken this decision?

Temper are a relative newcomer in France and have taken the strategic decision to focus on their core market (Netherlands) as well as their operations in the UK

What are the key differences between Temper and Student Pop?

Student Pop are more established in the French market and thus are able to call upon a workforce which is many times larger than that of Temper, and which has a presence across France (Temper are concentrated in the Ile-de-France region.) Like Temper, Student Pop has an excellent record for reliability, with a historical show-up rate of over 98%. There are some differences in how the Student Pop platform and pricing works, and your new Account Manager will be happy to explain these to you.

How do Student Pop’s prices / commission compare to Temper?

Until 31 March 2025, current Temper clients will be able to trial Student Pop at the same hourly platform fee as is currently being charged on Temper. From 01 April, pricing moves to the standard Student Pop rate, 20% of the workers’ hourly earnings.

What will happen to my old Temper account?

You may continue to post shifts via Temper until 28 February, after which no new shifts can be created on the Temper platform. All shifts due to take place before 15 March will be honoured. Any remaining shifts due to take place after 15 March will be deleted.

What will happen to the FreeFlexers that I regularly use via Temper?

You can invite your favorite FreeFlexers to join Student Pop so you can continue working with them. Since Student Pop exclusively works with freelancers, they’ll be able to make the switch seamlessly. You can send them a special promotion code for an immediate connection. Additionally, you’ll have access to many other micro-entrepreneurs on the platform. Your Student Pop account manager can provide more details.

What happens to Temper after 31 March?

The Temper platform in France will no longer be accessible. However, note that the Temper French-speaking support team will remain available for any questions or queries you may have.

What should I do before then?

Make sure to download any reports that you may need for accounting / finance purposes, and settle any outstanding invoices. We also encourage you to familiarise yourself with Student Pop. We are confident that you will be in safe hands.
