As an independent entrepreneur, you are your own boss. Just like any other boss, it comes with responsibilities. Here they are:

  1. You are responsible for your own tax declarations. VAT stands for ‘value added tax’ and is an abbreviation for the tax you receive on your turnover. You declare your taxes each quarter.

  2. If you become sick or can’t work for some other reason, you are responsible for finding a suitable substitute. The client whom you entered an agreement with, is counting on you.

  3. You’re responsible for showing up and meeting the clothing requirements. Some clients will provide the correct clothing for you on location, but 9 out of the 10 times this is not the case. Take a careful look at the appearance and clothing requirements in the shift description. It would be wise to purchase a few basic items such as black trousers and a white and black T-shirt.
